Yes vampires, werewolves, witchcraft even have a debut in music, particuarly the music of today, so I will share some such of these songs for your enjoyment.
Well I just had to mention the song Possum Kingdom by the Toadies, this is a classic vampire song, and I thought I would pos the lyrics to the song:
Make up your mind
Decide to walk with me
Around the lake tonight
Around the lake tonight
By my side
By my side
I’m not gonna lie
I’ll not be a gentleman
Behind the boathouse
I’ll show you my dark secret
I’m not gonna lie
I want you for mine
My blushing bride
My lover, be my lover, yeah…
Don’t be afraid
I didn’t mean to scare you
So help me, Jesus
I can promise you
You’ll stay as beautiful
With dark hair
And soft skin…forever
Forever
Make up your mind
Make up your mind
And I’ll promise you
I will treat you well
My sweet angel
So help me, Jesus
(hey, hey, hey)
Give it up to me
Give it up to me
Do you wanna be
My angel?
So help me!
Be my angel
Be my angel
Do you wanna die?
I promise you
I will treat you well
My sweet angel
So help me, Jesus
Jesus
Jesus
Jesus…
This song I find to be richly dark.
Dragula by Rob Zombie
Dead I am the one, exterminating son
Slipping through the trees, strangling the breeze
Dead I am the sky, watching angels cry
While they slowly turn, conquering the worm
Dig through the ditches,
Burn through the witches
I slam in the back of my
Dragula
Dig through the ditches,
Burn through the witches
I slam in the back of my
Dragula
Dead I am the pool, spreading from the fool
Weak and want you need, nowhere as you bleed
Dead I am the rat, feast upon the cat
Tender is the fur, dying as you purr
Dig through the ditches,
Burn through the witches
I slam in the back of my
Dragula
Dig through the ditches,
Burn through the witches
I slam in the back of my
Dragula
Do it baby, do it baby
Do it baby, do it baby
Burn like an animal
Dead I am the life, dig into the skin
Knuckle crack the bone, 21 to win
Dead I am the dog, hound of hell you cry
Devil on your back, I can never die
Dig through the ditches,
Burn through the witches
I slam in the back of my
Dragula
Dig through the ditches,
Burn through the witches
I slam in the back of my
Dragula
Do it baby, do it baby
Do it baby, do it baby
Burn like an animal
Dig through the ditches,
Burn through the witches
I slam in the back of my
Dragula
Dig through the ditches,
Burn through the witches
I slam in the back of my
Dragula
Dig through the ditches,
Burn through the witches
I slam in the back of my
Dragula
This is a little gem I came across.
The composor Hector Berlioz did a sympohony called Symphony Fantastic, and it is about Witches, the first movement is called The Witches Sabbat, and it is a fun energetic and exciting piece.
Here is an old faveorite of mine
Sympathy For the Devil by Guns and Roses
Please allow me to introduce myself
I’m a man of wealth and taste
I’ve been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man’s soul and faith
And I was ’round when Jesus Christ
Had his moment of doubt and pain
Made damn sure that Pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name
But what’s puzzling you
Is the nature of my game
I stuck around St. Petersberg
When I saw it was a time for a change
Killed the Czar and his ministers
Anastasia screamed in vain
I rode a tank
Held a general’s rank
When the Blitzkrieg raged
And the bodies stank
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
What’s puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah
I watched with glee
While your kings and queens
Fought for ten decades
For the Gods they made
I shouted out
“Who killed the Kennedys?”
When after all
It was you and me
Let me please introduce myself
I’m a man of wealth and taste
And I laid traps for troubadors
Who get killed before they reached Bombay
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But what’s puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah, get down, baby
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But what’s confusing you
Is just the nature of my game
Just as every cop is a criminal
And all the sinners saints
As heads is tails
Just call me Lucifer
‘Cause I’m in need of some restraint
So if you meet me
Have some courtesy
Have some sympathy, and some taste
Use all your well-learned politesse
Or I’ll lay your soul to waste, um yeah
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, um yeah
But what’s puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, um baby, get down
Woo, who
Oh yeah, get on down
Oh yeah
Oh yeah!
Tell me baby, what’s my name
Tell me honey, baby guess my name
Tell me baby, what’s my name
I tell you one time, you’re to blame
Ooo, who
Ooo, who
Ooo, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Oh, yeah
What’s my name
Tell me, baby, what’s my name
Tell me, sweetie, what’s my name
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Oh, yeah

For me the ultimate vampire song is Forsaken by David Draiman:
I’m over it
You see I’m falling in the vast abyss
Clouded by memories of the past
At last I see
[Pre1]
I hear it fading, I can’t speak it
Or else you will dig my grave
You feel them finding, always whining
Take my hand now be alive
[Chorus]
You see I cannot be forsaken
Because I’m not the only one
We walk amongst you feeding, raping
Must we hide from everyone?
I’m over it
Why can’t we be together embrace it?
Sleeping so long taking off the mask
At last I see
[Pre2]
My fear is fading, I can’t speak it
Or else you will dig my grave
You feel them finding, always whining
Take my hand now be alive
[Chorus x 2]
Everyone
Everyone
I think this was in the Queen of the Damned Soundtrack
Originally done by Black Sabbath, but I personally prefer the Cake remake. Though it is primarly a political song, it has some good dark refrences.
War Pigs
Generals gathered in their masses
Just like witches at black masses
Evil minds that plot destruction
Sorcerers of deaths construction
In the fields the bodies burning
As the war machine keeps turning
Death and hatred to mankind
Poisoning their brainwashed minds, oh lord yeah!
Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to the poor
Time will tell on their power minds
Making war just for fun
Treating people just like pawns in chess
Wait till their judgement day comes, yeah!
Now in darkness, world stops turning
As the war machine keeps burning
No more war pigs of the power
Hand of God has sturck the hour
Day of judgement, God is calling
On their knees, the war pigs crawling
Begging mercy for their sins
Satan, laughing, spreads his wings
All right now!
“Sympathy for the Devil” was written by singer Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards, though the song was largely a Jagger composition.
The album Beggars Banquet
Released 6 December 1968
Recorded June 1968
Pearl Jam’s “The Water Pouring Song (live)” included an instrumental section of “Sympathy for the Devil”. It is called this because Eddie Vedder pours water on the audience during the song.
The song inspired the Bollock Brothers’ The Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse in their eponymous 1985 album.
The Guns N’ Roses cover is notable for causing an incident within the group that was partially responsible for guitarist Slash departure from the band in 1996. The incident was when Paul Tobias, a friend of Axl Rose, recorded a guitar part over Slash’s guitar without his consent. Slash later stated that this was a crucial moment in his decision to leave the band. He has described the Guns N’ Roses version of the song as ‘the sound of a band breaking up’.[9]
In 1989, the Slovenian band Laibach released an EP of seven different versions of the song, interpreted as everything from a Wagnerian symphony to a light techno number. An October 31, 1987 version of the song also appears on Widespread Panic’s album of live cover songs, Jackassolantern, released in 2004.
The song has a similar chord structure as the coda to The Beatles’ “Hey Jude” and The Residents perform the two quodlibet as the finale to their album The Third Reich ‘n’ Roll.
In December 1969, Sandie Shaw recorded the song for her album Reviewing the Situation.
In 1986-87 ex Yugoslav “The End Band” included the song in their “Made in Yugoslavia” album (‘A” Production, Ljubljana,Slovenia).
In 1991, industrial metal band Skrew included a drastically rearranged cover of the song on their debut album, Burning in Water, Drowning in Flame.
In 1996, Natalie Merchant released a live cover of the song.
In September 2003, ABKCO Records released a remix single of the original song featuring radio and remix versions by The Neptunes, Fatboy Slim, and Full Phatt.
In 2005, Ozzy Osbourne released a cover of the song on his box set Prince of Darkness and the related Under Cover release.
Progressive/gothic metal band Tiamat covered the song on their 1999 album, Skeleton Skeletron.
In 2000, the industrial band Electric Hellfire Club covered the song for their album Empathy for the Devil.
A snippet of the song is often sung by Bono along with “Ruby Tuesday” during performances of “Bad” at U2 concerts, most notably performed at Live Aid in London as well as on the concert film Rattle and Hum.
In 2006, another cover was made in an Uruguayan rhythm ‘murga’ by Argentinian Diego Capusotto for his sketch comedy ‘Peter Capusotto y sus videos’.
One of the recent covers was made by a Polish metalcore group Sweet Noise in 2007, with a use of African tribal choir.
